If you sell jewelry for a living, then you have probably been buying up a lot of gold lately. I know that my friend who owns a jewelry store down south has been buying so much gold that he had to open up a new store just for that purpose. The amount of people that were looking to sell old jewelry was so long each day and his regular customers who actually wanted to shop at his store were having trouble getting in.

I remember when I went down to visit him, we went to lunch and someone found out that he was a jeweler. They told him that they were going to sell old jewelry very soon and that he should be looking for them. He laughed at it, and I asked him if that happened very often. He said that only since selling old jewelry became so lucrative.

I looked into selling old jewelry that I had stored away, but the sentimental value did not outweigh the very small amount that the local jewelry store guy offered me, so I kept it. My friend told me that I should never part with things that have so much meaning, just for a little bit of cash.
